Technical teams have identified a brief connectivity problems between our replica servers and had resolved this issue. The time period when you might have experienced problems with scans and hash lookup was between 12/09/2016 10:40:48AM - 12/09/2016 10:57:48AM.
The issue has been resolved and services are back online.

Metadefender Cloud, issues scanning
On 8/14/2016 @ 4:50pm PST our back-end hit a memory condition and crashed. Technical teams recovered the system and increased the back-end capacity to mitigate the condition while we research how to correct it completely in a future release. Scanning resumed by 10:00pm PST.

MEM Backend Issue
Metadefender Endpoint back end systems ran into an issue at 6:23am PST. Technical teams performed a restart of back end systems and revived the system by 6:33am PST. It was determined an old test configuration was used which limited the memory. The team replaced the memory setting in production to allow the use of more memory. Technical teams will continue to monitor the systems.

Portal Capacity Issue
Portal US systems ran into an issue due to capacity. Automated failover was successful in pointing traffic to other regions, but there was a temporary issue for US customers from 3:45am to 3:55am PST. Issue was identified and corrected in the configuration of the US systems. Systems were fully operation in all regions as of 3:55am

Portal Offline Definition File
On August 17th 2015 @ 4:40am PST, Metascan offline signatures began to exhibit errors when looking up definition updates. Technical teams ran diagnostic and test scripts with success, but @ 5:40am Offline Definitions failed to render. Technical teams restarted the backend for the Offline Definition service. The team is looking into the cause of the issue. The Offline Definition page was tested and verified @6:54am PST as working.

We determined the errors were due to an old replica address that was replaced by a newer system. We removed the offending address and now fully operational.
